12 mint leaves
1 lime cut into 4 wedges
1 cup crushed ice or 5 to 6 ice cubes
6 ounces diet lemon-lime soda
1½ ounces rum
Optional garnish: additional mint leaves
Place the mint leaves and 3 lime wedges in a glass. Muddle (a.k.a. pulverize). Top with ice.
Add the soda and rum, and stir well. Feel free to garnish with remaining lime wedge and extra mint. Feel very free to enjoy!
