Sauces, Dressings, and Marinades


Alfredo Sauce


2 Tablespoons butter
1½ cups evaporated skimmed milk
1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 Tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Mix milk, flour, salt, and pepper until smooth; stir into butter. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute; remove from heat. Stir in cheese.

Makes 4 servings.
