Fruit Punch Sangria


1 cup strawberries, chopped
2 Tablespoons orange zest
1 medium orange, peeled and chopped
1 medium sweet red apple, chopped
1 medium banana, ripe to slightly over-ripe, peeled and chopped
1 cup pineapple chunks, drained and chopped
750 mls red wine (pinot noir)
1 cup light cranberry juice cocktail
1½ cups lemon-lime soda (diet)

Stir fruit, wine, and cranberry juice into a large pitcher; cover and refrigerate 5 hours or overnight.

Just before serving, stir in diet soda. Pour over ice, dividing the fruit equally among the serving glasses.

Makes 8 servings.
