Meatloaf

 

4 Servings


  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ cup dry seasoned bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 4-ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained and chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20) or meatloaf mixture (ground beef, pork, and lamb)
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce (we use Jack Daniels Original No. 7 Recipe)

Preheat oven to 350° F.

In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Pat mixture into a loaf pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes.


Note: Traditionally, the barbecue sauce is brushed over the top, but we prefer it mixed into the meatloaf.
