Maryland Crabcakes

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon honey mustard
  • 3 slices Wonder white bread, torn into small pieces (no substitutes; see note below)
  • 1 pound lump crab meat

Combine first six ingredients in a medium bowl. Gently fold in crab to avoid breaking up lumps. Form into four even cakes. Broil about 10 minutes, turning halfway through.


Note: It's essential that you use Wonder bread for this recipe, as it is so full of air that it can be used as a binder, yet virtually disappears.
